Inside: Get your homeschool day off to the right start by including Bible based homeschool curriculum. One of the easiest ways to do this is with a family morning basket!

Over the years, our homeschool style has evolved. We’ve tried nearly every method, technique, and approach always thinking that this newest adaptation would be “it.”

Many of those methods fell by the wayside as we learned how we learn best, but we also took bits and pieces from each style along the way.

Several years ago I was introduced to the concept of the morning basket, and since then, we’ve started our day with our own, custom version.

This year, however, I am so excited because we won’t be reinventing the wheel or making it up as we go along. This year, we have the Family Morning Basket, a bible based homeschool curriculum, and I can’t wait to see how it goes!

I was compensated for my time writing this post and was provided a copy of the product at no charge for the purpose of writing a fair and honest review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

For years, we have started our homeschool day with a homemade morning basket.

This year, we will be utilizing the Family Morning Basket from Master Books. This bible based homeschool curriculum is a fantastic way to start your homeschool day!

The longer we homeschool, the more important it becomes to me that we use biblical curriculum for homeschool, and companies like Master Books make it easy to do.

What Is A Morning Basket?

Generally speaking, a morning basket is a time when you start your homeschool day together with a standard set of items. Baskets are not actually required, but they do make the resources portable.

For years, that meant we read from various devotionals, studied quotes or character traits, learned what happened on this day in history, and worked our current read-alouds.

Some years, our morning basket time included free writing, copywork, or even grammar work.

And other years, we worked on the world of the day or even studied Shakespeare.

It’s always been changing and evolving but never have we had an official morning basket curriculum until this year.

Inside The Family Morning Basket from Master Books

Earlier this year we had the privilege of reviewing Foundations in Faith, a biblical homeschool curriculum elective for 7-12th graders. This course is already on the syllabus for my high school freshman.

And when the Family Morning Basket was offered for review, I grabbed it. Not only did it fit our eclectic learning style, but it had so many amazing resources that I was looking to teach my kids!

What kind of resources? I’m glad you asked!

Inside the Family Morning Basket from Master Books, I found:

  • Quick Answers to Tough Questions
  • How the Bible Works
  • G.I. Joe & Lillie
  • One Blood for Kids
  • 3 Marvels of Creation Books featuring Birds, Mammals, and Sea Creatures
  • 9 Fruits of the Spirit books
  • Plus, a fully laid out, 180-day schedule!

Why We Choose Bible Based Homeschool Curriculum

As a Christian family, it’s important to us that we teach our children not just the core subjects, electives, and personal interests.

Our faith dictates that we also teach them, daily, about our faith and why it’s important.

We’ve used Master Books for years because we know that they offer quality resources that are accurate and easy to use. Plus they have a growing selection of biblical curriculum for homeschool like the Family Morning Basket.

Not only that, the Master Books approach to learning aligns with our own. Whether we are working on elementary math, high school science, or something in between, the eclectic mix of reading, writing, copywork, and hands-on learning is perfect for our semi-relaxed homeschool.

And with easy-to-follow schedules for every class, you can easily pick up where you left off if your learning schedule needs to be flexible.

Plus, I know that every Master Books program will always point my children back to God. I never have to worry about this bible based homeschool curriculum.

Using A Bible Based Homeschool Curriculum

For the purpose of this review, we’ve just touched on the highlights, but I am so excited for the homeschool year to start so we can better dig into the Family Morning Basket from Master Books!

Not only is this biblical homeschool curriculum a great fit for our family, but it’s perfectly organized and ready to go… meaning even if you are still planning and preparing your upcoming homeschool year like I am, you can easily incorporate the Family Morning Basket. Remember, the course comes with a 36-week schedule… all you have to do is follow along!

I’ve been wanting to do a lesson on the fruits of the spirit for a few years now, so the 9 book series included in the Family Morning Basket is the perfect match for us! These study books are written using a storytelling style of writing and have plenty of questions for reflection and to ensure learning. I’m so glad the program had us start with the Love devotional!

The three Marvels of Creation titles are beautifully illustrated books filled with the wonders of the animal kingdom. They are the perfect way to touch on science as part of your morning time with a bible based homeschool curriculum that will always point us back to the Creator. The schedule has you begin with Marvelous Mammals, and our two dogs approved!

The remaining books in the 16-book Family Morning Basket include How the Bible Works, Quick Answers to Tough Questions, One Blood for Kids, and G.I. Joe & Lillie, a title my daughter especially loved as we have our own Lily.

These last few titles may be a bit advanced for my 10-year-old, but as she is racing towards her teen years faster than I’d like, I know that preparing her foundation in truth is vital.

Thankfully, they are all listed for the second semester.

Do You Want Bible Based Homeschool Curriculum For Your Family This Year?

Scripture tells us that the beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7), and in our homeschool that means we start our homeschool days with devotionals, Bible studies, or the Bible.

Sure, math and history are important, but the best lesson I can give my children is the one that points them back to Christ.

While we have primarily used Bible based homeschool curriculum over the years, I am so excited to add the Family Morning Basket and have a year-long course that will guide and direct us all.

I highly encourage you to do the same, friend! Click the button below to learn more about the Family Morning Basket from Master Books.
