As a self-described curriculum junkie, let me warn you now that I LOVE the prospect of a new curriculum. The opportunity to learn new things, try new ideas, and grow in new ways has me always itching to try something new.
Yet, there are a few items that we have come to rely on over the years and we do build our school year around them. Products that offer consistent value and allow us to dance our delicate dance of book learning and interest-based learning. Programs we can pause when we need to and pick right back up where we left off.

Well, my name is Kelly and I am a homeschool Momma just like you! I live up in the beautiful state of Maine and I homeschool my four kids – and each day is a new adventure. Two of the kids are in high school while the younger two are in elementary.
Our homeschooling journey has been finned with more ups and downs than I can count, but each one has been worth it. The struggles and trials make the triumphs and wins seem that much sweeter!
We lean towards a semi-relaxed approach in our homeschooling. You will find that in some seasons we are up to our elbows in books and projects, while in other seasons we are slowing down in formal learning methods and the kids are instead following their passions and interests. For us, this wide swing from one side of the learning pendulum to the other allows us to balance the kids’ desire to learn where their hears take them and my need to ensure they have the basics of a quality education.
Over the years I have learned that there is no one superior homeschool method. Each approach has its own unique set of strengths. Flexibility is the name of the game here and we work hard to achieve our learning goals for the year while also leaving room for curiosity.
