The Case For Christian Education

When we first began our homeschool journey, I wasn’t sold on the idea of Christian homeschooling. While we attended church, I still believed that church and education should be separate.

The problem with that is scripture is pretty clear on the fact that knowledge starts with the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7). Inadvertently, I was robbing my children of true knowledge as I pursued an education that was void of the Truth.

Thankfully, God’s mercies are new everyday and eventually He brought me around. One of the earliest programs He used to change my tune was Master Books!

Filled with vivid images, stories, engaging lessons, and enough eclectic opportunities to spread our homeschool wings, Master Books quickly won our hearts and helped paved the way for our current education model, one that built on the foundation of Christian education.

Biblical Homeschool Curriculum

Covering all subjects and grades, and providing oodles of electives, Master Books is a leader in affordable Christian curriculum for your homeschool. With well known authors including Anglea O’Dell, Israel Wayne, and Ken Ham, plus many others, it’s easy to trust Master Books to provide quality, faith-based homeschool resources at any level of homeschool.

For our review with Master Books, we jumped into the Foundations In Fatih (set). Geared towards middle and high school students, this program is perfect for shoring up your preteen and teenagers faith, preparing them to step out into the world.

I was excited to dive into this one with my middle schooler. He has a fantastic biblical base, but as we approach high school, we had already been chatting about electives. A Biblical homeschool curriculum that supports his current understanding of scripture while making sure he had a solid foundation is just what we were looking for.

Laying A Good Foundation In Faith

With two graduates under our belt, and two more still homeschooling, I am always looking for ways we can improve. My goal is not to cram every day with learning but to ensure we offer our children a good educational foundation and provide a buffet of resources and options to add to the foundation

The high school years may have a poor reputation, but I have found they can be some of the most enjoyable! Our teens are transitioning from children to adults and we have a front row seat to the process.

It can be a wonderful time of growth and change if you are open to it.

And while you may be letting your child dictate their educational path a bit more, this is not the time to slow down on your child’s faith-based instruction.

Sure, they may not need a VBS-style lesson on Noah or Jonah, but they will need some deeper lessons of faith and the best way to make that happen is with Biblical homeschool curriculum like the options you will find at Masterbooks.

Digging Into Foundations In Faith

Perfect for 7th-12th graders, Foundations in Faith is a 36-week program that helps your child learn about doctrine and theology. Laid out in an easy-to-navigate format, middle and high school students can easily work through this program independently.

In order to complete the Foundations In Faith program, you will need:

  • Foundations In Faith: A 36-week text & consumable workbook.
  • Great for God: A biographical book that retells the stories of missionaries that is included in the Foundations in Faith set.
  • A Bible: Foundations In Faith recommends NKJV.
  • Approximately 20-30 minutes per day.

Starting on page 1, your student will begin laying a foundation in faith that is built on truth and backed by scripture. Each week builds on the previous lessons and encourage deep thinking, conversations with parents, and a devotion to your local church.

Not a substitute for regular church attendance, Foundations in Faith is a fantastic way for parents to work on faith-based lessons at home. Whether you have been teaching your children from Scripture all along or are just starting to include home lessons, the Foundations in Faith set from Master Books is a wonderful way to incorporate some of the most important lessons you will ever teach your child.

A Unique Approach To Learning

Not only does Master Books offer Biblical homeschool curriculum options that are easy to use and affordable, they also offer materials that work for a wide variety of learning styles.

Calling themselves eclectic, Master Books grabs from various learning methods including Charlotte Mason, literature-based learning, hands-on methods, and more, to offer programs that give every learner a chance to excel, even in high school level material like Foundation In Faith.
