Why We Love Exploring Creation with Apologia Earth Science
If you are looking for an easy-to-use earth science program for your homeschool, stop what you are doing and grab a cup of coffee because Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Earth Science is something you need to know more about!
I was compensated for my time writing this post and was provided a copy of the product at no charge for the purpose of writing a fair and honest review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Long History with Apologia Science
If you have been around my site for any amount of time, you may already know that we love Apologia in our homeschool!
Whether we are working on elementary science with the Young Explorer series, or jumping into high school biology and high school chemistry, Apologia is always our go-to program.
So it made perfect sense when a review opportunity came up for Exploring Creation with Earth Science to volunteer to spend part of our summer working on science and add to our collection of Young Explorer titles.
Diving Right Into This Homeschool Earth Science Curriculum
One of the features I love most about Apologia science is the format of its materials.
Open-and-go (except for experiments), we can simply sit down with our textbook and begin learning. And when we add in the optional Notebooking Journals (which we always do) that very same learning can now be reinforced and applied.
Like riding a bike, we only had to open the hardcover Apologia earth science textbook and begin with Lesson 1 which was titled, The Observable Universe.

A Unique Science with A Christian Worldview
I won’t deny it, the fact that Apologia Science is taught from a Christian worldview is a huge plus for us. I want everything we do in our homeschool to reinforce our core beliefs, including how we approach science.
Does this mean we never cover topics such as evolution, the Big Bang, or Charles Darwin? Not at all – in fact, those are all covered in a middle school level Apologia science book and we expand on them where necessary.
Just, not in Exploring Creation with Earth Science (that I can see, anyway).

What’s Covered in Apologia Earth Science?
The Apologia earth science textbook contains 14 lessons that will take about 28-weeks to complete, leaving you plenty of time to finish the textbook and explore any side lessons that you or your child may want to venture on.
Throughout the program you and you student are going to do more than just read about the world around them… you are going to interact with it through a variety of activities that will help bring homeschool science alive.
Over the course of the Apologia earth science program, you will learn about the observable universe, the spheres of the earth, weather forecasting, cycles of life, and how all of creation points to God.

Why We Choose Apologia Science for Our Homeschool
In our homeschool, Apologia is it because no regardless of whether we are using a title from the Young Explorer series, like Exploring Creation with Earth Science, progressing through the middle school science levels, or cruising right up through high school science, Apologia consistently offers us the following 5 things:
- Relaxed learning that encourages participation, asking questions, and digging deep into what you are learning.
- Amazing photography that enhances every page and inspires awe.
- An easy-to-follow schedule that helps us make sure we are on track to finish the program before the end of the year.
- Hands-on activities and experiments at every level that aid in reinforcing what is being taught.
- Support materials including Notebooking Journals, CDs, Thumb Drives, and an online portal.

Exploring Creation with Apologia Earth Science
For now, we are pausing our journey through the Apologia Earth Science book to enjoy a few additional weeks of summer vacation… although we are keeping the Etch-A-Sketch from the experiment because that is proving to be quite entertaining.
But very soon, we will pick back up our textbook and Notebook Journal and resume Exploring Creation with Apologia Earth Science.
