When you think of homeschool pre-algebra classes what comes to mind? Do you start to sweat, feel a bit light-headed, and wonder about the guy buying all the fruit from your math books?

What if I told you there was an easier way to teach math in your homeschool and even prepare your students for high school math? Would you believe me?

I hope so, because today, friend, I’m going to show you just how amazing teaching homeschool math can be with a self-paced pre-algebra program that’s making sure my son (and all the students who enroll) are prepared for high school math without all of the internal angst that mathematics can often bring.

I was compensated for my time writing this post and was provided a copy of the product at no charge for the purpose of writing a fair and honest review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Transitioning To High School Math

As a homeschool family with two graduates behind us, we are no strangers to preparing for the complexities of high school math.

While elementary and middle school math consists of mostly arithmetic and learning the basics of numbers, high school math tends to include a variety of algebraic concepts that leave many adults running for the hills.

Over the years, we have had the pleasure of working with a variety of math programs, including Mr. D Math, to ensure our children are covered in all areas of math from basics math skills to advanced arithmetic & algebraic concepts, and even consumer math (a graduation requirement for our homeschool).

Preparing For High School Math

For many students, the transition from mathematics to algebraic math can be a bit nerve-wracking. Often children have heard of their parent’s struggles (or those of older siblings). For many, this is a big leap into uncharted territory.

That is where a pre-algebra course can come in handy, like Mr. D Math Pre-Algebra. Offering both an in-person, live class as well as a self-paced Pre-Algbra this course helps students bridge the gap between mathematics and Algebra.

Homeschool Math

If you have been searching for the perfect homeschool math program that combines flexibility with excellence then I think your search may be over, my friend, because Mr. D Math has you covered!

In fact, Mr. D Math might just be your new favorite homeschool math program.

With a wide range of homeschool math classes, including the pretty amazing self-paced pre-algebra course my son has been working on, you are sure to find just the right fit for your homeschool math needs.

What sets Mr. D Math apart? Well, for starters, Mr. D Math offers a unique blend of live, in-person classes and self-paced courses. This allows you to tailor your math learning experience to suit your family’s schedule and preferences. Whether your child needs the in-person aspect of a traditional classroom to thrive or your family needs a bit more flexibility to tackle math at your own pace, Mr. D Math offers the perfect solution.

Homeschool Pre-Algebra Courses

Not quite ready for Algebra yet, my son and I decided to spend this year beefing up his math skills, something that Mr. D Math Pre-Algebra has been helping do.

With many options available for homeschool pre-algebra courses, we knew that Mr. D Math offered the preparation for high school math we were looking for.

Plus, I am a huge fan of Mr. D’s teaching philosophy! Last year I had the opportunity to learn how to teach reading a copy of Mr. D’s book, Teach. If you get a chance, I recommend you check it out!

Ok, back to pre-algebra.

Armed with the Mr. D Math Pre-Algebra course, I knew my son would have the best in high school math preparation. This curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts while also fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills – all essential for success in the higher-level math courses that are right around the corner for him.

For our busy lifestyle, we chose the self-paced math class. With a hectic schedule that varies from day to day, we knew that flexibility was a key factor. The self-paced pre-Algebra course offered all the amazing benefits of a Mr. D Math class with the adaptability our household needs.

Self-Paced Pre-Algebra For Homeschoolers

One of the things my son appreciates most about Mr. D Math Pre-Algebra is how easily he can control his learning. With many new-found interests, his time is full, but he is able to easily make space in his day for math.

Plus, the course followed a predictable pattern that we could count on. Self-explanatory, this course encourages responsibility, something that Dennis (or Mr. D as his students call him), works hard to foster. It’s an approach that resonates with students and families alike.

When I asked him if he felt that there was an emphasis on real-world application (answering the age-old question, “When will I ever use this?”), my son felt there was plenty. Not just a list of rules and formulas, he felt the lessons were carefully crafted to not only teach mathematical concepts but also to show how those concepts translate into the real world. In my opinion, this not only gives him a better understanding of the material but also a fantastic foundation on which we can build in high school.

More Than Just Math

But here’s the best part – Mr. D Math isn’t just about math!

While math courses are the cornerstone of their program, they also offer a wide variety of classes covering topics such as test prep (for college entrance exams), study skills, music, American Sign Language, and so much more. There truly is something for every homeschooling family!

And let’s not forget about Mr. D himself. Not only is he a math genius, but he’s also an incredible resource for homeschool parents everywhere. His recent book Teach is an absolute must-read for anyone navigating the homeschooling journey. Packed with practical tips, insights, and inspiration, it’s sure to become your go-to guide for all things homeschooling.

But don’t just take my word for it – Mr. D Math has a legion of satisfied customers who can attest to the program’s effectiveness and excellence. You can read the testimonials and see just how much of an impact Mr. D Math has had on students worldwide.
