A rocky history of planning success
I’ll be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with planners.
I love them for their ability to help me organize and control the chaos that is my busy life. As a homeschool family, we are frequently on the go, running from one activity to another. With four kids, there is no shortage of events or functions to attend.
Plus, there is the detail of the kids’ actual academics to be considered.
Oh, and, of course, all of the other things in our life like family gatherings, doctor’s appointments, vehicle maintenance, running a house… you get the idea.
But I hate how finite most planners are.
I can’t stand how they try to sort my life into boxes and categories that just don’t quite work.
And I really dislike how some are too small, not giving me nearly enough room to record it all, while others are too big and I, a planning overachiever, simply plan for too much… a habit that always sets us all up for failure and frustration.

This love/hate thing I have going on had led me to try countless planners. The one I kept coming back to was close, but simply not enough.
And adapting it to fit my needs required purchasing the planner and the additional pages and still making customizations.
Cost plus more cost, for something that only semi-worked… It just didn’t make a lot of sense.
It was then that I decided enough was enough. No longer was I going to continue to purchase tools that weren’t truly useful. And I wasn’t going to keep trying to fit the square peg of our busy life into the round hole that was planners currently available.
Instead, my necessity led me down a different path: creating a planner that was truly unique.
A planner that was truly customizable.
And a planner that came with all of the different pages a person was going to need without tacking on extra costs for the customization.

Creating something truly better
The path to creating a better planner first started with identifying why other planners simply didn’t work.
First on my shortlist were page sizes and layout options.
Next was needing a life planner, that didn’t work for our homeschool, and then a separate homeschool planner that didn’t have the space to record our life items either.
I knew I needed to make something truly better. A planner with pages large enough to work for a busy homeschool mom, but not with so much additional space that over-planning was bound to happen.
I knew I needed to include multiple page layouts because not every day needs an hour-by-hour breakdown – but some truly do.
And I knew I needed to include planning pages for life, home, and homeschool. Space to record it all and see a busy life in one quick location.

Creating The Ultimate Home & School Planner
Armed with a set of requirements, slowly a new planning system began to take shape. A system that could account for multiple areas of a person’s life, all in one spot.
It didn’t happen overnight though. Instead, it was a trial and error process as pages were created and then used. I received a lot of feedback on layout, ease of use, and design from those who are experts in their fields.
All the while keeping the end goal in mind – to create a better way to plan for everyone. A system that allowed busy homeschool moms, like you, to try and control the chaos that is our lives.

How The Ultimate Home & School Planner Can Help You!
Annual Planning Pages
The annual planning pages are just like they sound – planning for the whole year. With both monthly and weekly pages, you can quickly see an overview of your time. Perfect for starting to get organized, but also blocking out large chunks of time like trips and vacations.
From there, daily pages are for those of us who prefer to run our days in a systematic routine… or those seasons when life follows a consistent flow from one function to another.
Yet, because we all have different preferences when it comes to planning, you can choose from a variety of layouts for all 3 – your months, your weeks, and your days – to create the ultimate in customized planning.
Homeschool Planning Pages
Starting with a yearly overview and goal setting, the homeschool planning section is where you determine the track of your year. Yearly overview pages are available in both a general form and a high-school student form – perfect for tracking future goals, graduation requirements, and prior credits earned.
From there, you can easily move into your monthly and weekly planning, as well as recording what actually happened in your homeschool because things will come up. Recording what actually happened in the month will allow you to look at your goals for the month and the year, while also giving you space to help with any required reporting you may need to do.
With multiple layouts, plus plenty of extras like grade and progress tracking, reading logs, and high-school-specific pages, your homeschool section will be as unique as your home education.

Home Planning Pages
Home planning pages are there to help you run your home. Meal planning, shopping lists, and cleaning schedules help you make sure your home is running smoothly.
Plus, those details are all in the same planner!
Personal Planning Pages
Often as moms, we tend to take a backseat. We put our families first and take what is left often staying up too late, neglecting self-care, and getting lost in the shuffled of diapers, laundry, dinner, and dishes.
And while our families do need to come first, we don’t need to come last either.
So, to help you prioritize helping yourself I included a section of personal planning pages. These are designed to help you set goals for yourself – changes you want to make – to help you be a better wife and mother.
Yearly pages for planning how you want to improve over the course of the next 12-months, and monthly pages to work on smaller sections of your goal. Tracking pages as well to track your progress as you work on things like getting to bed earlier, reading for enjoyment, or making sure you eat your fruits and vegetables too.

Why A Planner?
I know, the planning market is saturated. And right now, with COVID-19 shutting things down and changing our lives many are unsure how to plan in this strange new environment.
The reality is though, the planning market is saturated with planners that simply didn’t work for my busy life and I knew that I wasn’t the only one out there trying to plan but simply finding it too frustrating.
And Covid, well eventually that will go away and life will return to normal. Co-ops will reopen, field trips will happen again, and the libraries will be ready for us to check out books. And even if the restrictions on daily life continue months into the future, your homeschool and life still need to move forward. Education and living still need to happen, even if that looks different than it did before.

“This is a beautiful planner, very well done. I love the customization of it! Having a large family with kids spread from toddler to high school can make it difficult to find a planner that has enough spaces for planning. Kellyโs planner lets me print those pages I need in the number I need them, ensuring thereโs a place for every kid. I really liked the High School Yearly Planning Pages because at a quick glance you can see what subjects or credits your child has or will need.”
