What Is Hope In The Chaos?
I think this may be the most important post I write here. Ever. I am going to attempt, in the next several hundred words, to explain to you exactly what Hope In The Chaos is to me. And hopefully what it will become for you.
First, it’s a blog. It’s a way for me to communicate with the world. This is my space where I share my thoughts, ideas, opinions, dreams, and experiences. It’s written by an ordinary woman sharing about her extra-ordinary life in a unique way in the hope that I can bring some hope to your life.
Who Am I?
I am Kelly. I am a wife to a wonderful husband and a mother to four absolutley fabulous children. A church member and a youth group leader, and a sinner saved by grace. I wear many hats during the course of the day as both a homeschooler and a homemaker. I love reading, teaching my children, and quiet time to reflect. I am an introvert, but I also enjoy the company of friends… although I don’t apply that label lightly.
I am also the product of the experiences and trials of life. A life that has taken me places I never imagined and provided me with countless lessons. At the end of the day though I can say that it’s a good life, even the challenging parts, because it has all made me who I am today.
Why Write?
Writing, and in such a public venue, may seem strange to some. Foolish to others. For me though, it’s something I have wanted to do for a long time. But, I let fear hold me back. Fear of failure, fear of making a mistake, fear of publishing a typo or a misspelled word or of just making a fool of myself.
In the back of my mind there was always this calling though, and I tried to ignore it. Life, however, had other plans for me. All the while I was busying myself with other projects this kept coming back to me.
So I started planning. Started researching and learning about blogging and the more I looked, the more I learned, the more I knew. This. Is. It.
My Vision For Hope In The Chaos
My vision for this site is simple: it’s a platform where I can (hopefully) insill a small amount of hope into your day. Where I can help the person struggling in their faith. The mom struggling with Algebra lessons. The family struggling with bonding. It’s a venue where I can show the world that as real as chaos is, hope is still real as well. That there is still hope in the world.
This world has become a hopeless place. We shine and share on social media, but we hide our flaws behind closed doors. All of this polishing though has led to saddness and despair. We are immensley connected, yet drastically alone. We have allowed electronics to take the place of loved ones, addictions to destroy our families, and pain to break our children.
I would like to try and, even just a little, show a different way. Show that there are still families who eat around the dinner table. Families who play, and laugh, and learn together. Families who support one another and still believe in the golden rule.
It’s Not Perfect Though
If you are looking for perfect, then this is not it. This is not about showcasing or glossing over. Quite the opposite actually. We are simply a family, flaws and all, trying to get through each day. Some days are better than others. But we do it together. Whether we succeed or fail, it’s all of us. We cheer each other on, support one another, and have each others backs. We don’t have it all together, but we try. We don’t know all the answers, but we attempt to learn them.
So I hope you join me on this quest. This quest to find the hope in the chaos of life. Because as busy and hectic and just plain hard as life is, we all deserve to have a little hope each day. My hope, as I said, is that this will inspire you and help you as you go about your day. I invite you to pull up a chair and something to drink, get comfortable, and browse. See what hope you can find here.
I am so grateful for each and everyone one of you who read, comment, or share from this site. Thank you! And may you always look for the hope in the chaos.

I love your honesty!
Hi Kelly! I love the site and the video was awesome! I also love that I get to share a bit of your chaos most weekends with those wonderful children you are raising. Love Daddy, Grandpa, and sir to you Matt! ๐
I can’t wait to hear more from you. I love how you explained that it will not be perfect because it’s so true, Motherhood never is. You do so much that I bet you will have a lot of valuable information for people.
I love your transparency. I felt a calling to blog as well, so I can identify there. I’m looking forward to reading more!
I love this! I look forward to continuing to read your blog. So decided you decided to start to write and instill hope in others.
