3 Reasons to Give Your Homeschooler Travel Experiences This Christmas

I get it, it’s lots of fun to go Christmas shopping for the kids. I am totally guilty of buying way too many gifts for my kids, too. It’s easy to find things I think they’ll enjoy and, over time, the secret present stash in my closet grows to a size that’s completely ridiculous and overwhelming.

It takes a ton of time and materials to wrap everything. Then, on Christmas morning, the kids unwrap all the gifts quickly. They play with what they like and other things just…sit and collect dust. And remind me of money that wasn’t well-spent.

Growing up, do you remember learning through doing desk work and assignments or do you remember the places you went and the things you saw & experienced?

Even though I graduated some 20 years ago, I can still tell you the details of a 4th grade field trip I went on. We visited all sorts of local places of historical importance and learned all about the town. It was so interesting! (Fun fact – I currently live across the street from one of those historical places!)

I don’t remember much more of my “educational” experience though. I took plenty of spelling tests, wrote plenty of reports, & created plenty of dioramas, but I don’t really remember the specifics of those assignments.
